This Jin Jun Mei tea originates from Xianfeng in the Wuyi Mountains, where the unique geographical environment provides the tea plants with abundant, pure nutrients, resulting in exceptional quality. Authentic Jin Jun Mei is not characterised by dense golden downy hairs, but rather by the hand-picking of entire single buds, followed by processes including withering, rolling, fermentation, and drying.
The dry leaves resemble eyebrows in shape, compact and uniformly sized, displaying an interplay of ink, yellow, and gold hues. A light sniff reveals an entwining bouquet of floral, fruity, and honeyed aromas, as if encapsulating the very essence of Xianfeng's landscapes, making one eager to savour it. When brewed, the liquor is a clear, golden yellow, releasing a rich honey fragrance. The first sip is silky and sweet, followed by a burst of floral and fruity notes that linger on the palate, leaving a mellow and enduring aftertaste. This tea withstands multiple infusions, its distinctive aroma and flavour remaining vibrant right through to the final sip.
